I have spent most of my life in McDowell County and more than two decades leading people and operations in fast-moving restaurant and regulated manufacturing environments. That experience taught me to stay practical, listen to the people closest to the work, and understand that the visible problem is not always the real one.
Advising for businesses, leaders, and organizations
Managing internal complexity through external clarity.
Sometimes you don't need another employee. You need another perspective.

A capable perspective—
when you need one.
HPR gives owners, leaders, entrepreneurs, and organizations someone experienced to think alongside them—without adding another permanent employee.
I listen to what is actually happening, find the patterns underneath the noise, connect useful people and ideas, and help turn uncertainty into practical next steps. Sometimes that means advising. Sometimes it means research, facilitation, or implementation. The work follows the problem—not a prepackaged program.
Think of it as a temporary business partner with an outside view and a reason to ask the questions everyone else is too close to see.
Where HPR can help
Clarity takes different forms.
The categories make the work easier to understand. They are not walls you have to fit your problem inside.
Operational Clarity
Untangle bottlenecks, recurring problems, unclear roles, and informal processes that need to become dependable systems.

Talk it through ↗04Something Else?
You do not need to diagnose the problem before reaching out. Sometimes finding the real problem is where we begin.

Meet the founder
I'm Jason Cocklin. I help people see what gets lost inside the problem.
HPR stands for High Pattern Recognition—a name for something I have naturally done throughout my life. I notice how people, processes, information, and opportunities connect, then make those connections useful.
I'm candid, curious, and comfortable saying, “I don't know yet—let's figure it out.” HPR is not built around arriving with every answer. It is built around asking better questions, recognizing what others may have missed, and helping good ideas move beyond conversation.
What created HPR
Knowing when to push—and when to build a different bridge.
HPR began while I was pursuing a Family Entertainment Center for McDowell County. Through AIM, GEM, and LINC, I learned that responsible entrepreneurship means knowing not only how to move a vision forward but also when the timing and resources are not there yet.
What can I build now that helps create those resources later?
I kept meeting capable people buried inside their own problems and ideas. Sometimes they needed expertise, another set of hands, or a connection. Sometimes they simply needed somewhere to sit while someone helped them see through the fog. HPR became part of the answer.
